Hands-On Parenting Made Easy

For many hands-on parents, it’s easy to relate to this wonderful  parenting style. That’s 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without any holidays or any excuse to call in sick! But being hands-on doesn’t mean that you’re completely trapped and forever unable to relax and unwind. Yes, it is a lot of hard work but no, it’s not as tiring as others make it out to be.

(1) You can visit some child friendly places without the fear of having to take your child with you. That includes buildings that have lifts, ramps when a stroller is present and toilets with decent baby changing facilities. Playcentres are also a plus! With all these available, weight is taken off your shoulders. You can now relax and forget about worrying too much!

(2) After your baby is well rested from a good night’s sleep, you may take him/her with you if you opt to do some shopping. Mornings are best since shops are usually less crowded and this makes it easier for you and your baby to get through without any fuss. You may even enjoy a nice lunch out together and some ice cream after that!

(3) How about having a romantic dinner date with hubby and watch a movie or have a drink at a bar together? Grandma or Grandpa would be more than happy to look after the little one for a few hours or even longer. It’s also less worrying to know that your child is being looked after by someone you know you can really trust.

(4) Little ones are always so curious about things. A ride in a vehicle can keep their minds wandering and usually refrain from screaming when they look out of the window and see some interesting things. That’s time out for you, too!

(5) Even taking a trip and taking your little one with you – be it business or pleasure. Someone I know who is currently working as a cosmetic representative travels around the city all day, everyday. With the use of public transport, she is more than happy to take her little one with her each time without fail.

(6) Working from home can sometimes be an advantage if you have children. Yes, the atmosphere can be a drag and you feel completely lousy wearing nightclothes all day, but you can still benefit from it. It’s easy to manage your time and combine both work and chores for your baby – to clean the nursery, sterilize bottles and other items, sort the clean and dirty clothes, prepare your baby’s food that require chopping, steaming and blending, make a list of items that need to be bought and of course, the best part which is spending quality time with your little one.
