Beautiful Cebu Movement Foundation, Inc. headed by philanthropist Dame Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung, will have a Masquerade Ball on February 29 at the Grand Pacific Ballroom, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino at 7pm.
If we remember right, Cebu’s enhancement project started from the Capitol Building down to Fuente Osmeña (excluding the Fuente itself), as pledged by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, at no expense to the movement. Other stakeholders have also almost finished beautifying their frontages, based on Beautiful Cebu’s design and specs. Sidewalks are pedestrian-friendly to increase foot traffic and reinvigorate the economy of local business in the area. Lighting highlights the city’s beautiful trees and avenues, encouraging night time strolls and discouraging muggers and snatchers.
The Masquerade Ball is the first invitational event of Beautiful Cebu Movement to encourage the guests to help generate funds needed for the project.
Please call Atty. Joje Decal, president of the foundation, at cell number 0920-910-5587 or Belinda Wong at 0917-721-1844 for more details.

Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino welcomed the year of the Water Dragon with a double celebration last January 23.
Apart from the exhilarating performance of the traditional lion and dragon dance, dear friends from the media gathered to meet the new Hotel Manager of the property, Ms. Ma. Theresa Fernandez or “Tet” as she prefers to be called, who treated everyone to a sumptuous Chinese New Year lunch at UNO.
The afternoon was filled with different Chinese selections and animated conversations with Ms. Tet. She generously shared her experiences, her thoughts and expertise in the hotel industry…after 25 years of passion and dedication to her craft. And she is very positive in taking the position in Waterfront Mactan and looks forward to making the property better than ever. Surely, a great and promising way to start the year!
