Cebu Sandigan Foundation celebrates 18

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Sandigan Foundation of the Archdiocese of Cebu celebrated its 18th anniversary and inducted five new members held at the Holiday Plaza Hotel. In 1993, it was established as a constituent chapter of the National Sandigan Foundation of the Philippines which was founded by the late Jaime Cardinal Sin of Manila. The late Ever Garcia was the charter president of the Foundation here in Cebu. The celebration was highlighted by an inspirational message of new spiritual director, His Excellency Archbishop of Cebu Jose S. Palma who extolled the humanitarian and charitable services of Sandigan in bringing relief and joy to the depressed sectors of society, Archbishop Jose S. Palma further noted that the organization has been blessed with caring members and generous volunteers who truly appreciated the service for the greater honor and glory of God. The Cebu Sandigan energetic president Dr. Lita Ortiz considers it certainly a great privilege to serve and carry out the work and mission of our Lord here on earth in feeding the poor and hungry, comfort the old and weak, visit the sick and by generously sharing one’s resources, time and effort for the mission and thrust of Cebu Sandigan. The Sandigan board of trustees are: Dr. Julita V. Ortiz, president; Lucy Segura, vice president; Mila Cipres, secretary; Violy Llenos, assistant secretary; Cynthia Boetiador, treasurer; Fe Bilar, assistant treasurer; Connie Ampalayo, auditor; and Menchi Ybud, PRO. The board members are Dr. Daisy Salas, Rady Lim, Teodula Tabelon, Bebe Alcoseba, Della Aliño, Lourdes Garnett and Liza Robles. Archbishop Jose S. Palma is the spiritual director.
