Calyx Centre

CEBU, Philippines - Innoland, a new player in the field of real estate since 2009, has already made big waves in the industry. The Cebuano developers have put up structures mostly for BPOs such as Convergys and Sykes. Thus, it was with much anticipation that they recently had a topping off ceremony for their first ever green hybrid building, the 26-story Calyx Centre in Asiatown IT Park, next to The Walk. This was last November 21, 2011, at the roof deck of the TGU Tower, Asiatown IT Park, also an Innoland creation, with their corporate offices & showroom on the 15h floor.

The topping off ceremony was led by the owners, Joy Anthony Ong (CEO), along with his children,  Engr. Charles Vincent Ong (COO) and Crystal Chloe Ong (Director, Marketing & Sales). The rest of the creative team were also in attendance: Wilson Granados (VP-Marketing & Sales), Tetta B. Baad (Marketing Consultant), Archt. Ben Villarama (Director- Aidea Philippines Inc.), Engr. Rey Mojica (Senior Designer, R.A. Mojica and Partners), Engr. Leonides Paragsa (Mechanical Consultant, LM Paragsa Consultancy & Services).

After the ceremonial toast at the TGU Tower roof deck, master of ceremonies Jude Bacalso asked the guests to divert their attetion to the nearby Calyx Centre, which immediately lit up, complete with accompanying fireworks display. Guests then enjoyed the cocktails, while being serenaded with the music of the Adlib band.

 Crystal Chloe Ong, the dynamic and charming Director for Sales and Marketing, came to our table and enthusiastically pointed out the features of what makes Calyx Centre a green building. For one, the curved wave-like shape of the sunroof at the ends of the building serve as a shade for tenants, instead of a typical box design. “Since we are a green company, we chose the name Calyx, which means the outer layer, or sepals, of a flower”, explains Chloe. She also very kindly gave us a tour of the model units for studios, and one & two bedroom condominiums. The units are modern, stylish (transparent fish design used as lampshades), multi-functional (the kitchen sink has a cover so it can be used as a table or chopping area), and makes one feel that they are in a spa (the shower has a rainfall head effect, with stones on the floor similar to Plantation Bay’s Mogambo Spa).
