Viva Brittania!

CEBU, Philippines - As we pay homage to the best decades in fashion that we've come across – decades that have become the perennial part of many a costume party – we also pay homage to one aspect in fashion that's as essential as your basic set of tops: make-up.

We're not just talking about make-up in general. We're talking about a look that zones in close to the natural, almost no make-up look we've all been pining for and this is the one that isn't only a main feature going back to the fashion of the swinging 60s, but this is a look that has been popularized by the likes of lean, wide-eyed Twiggy and the quintessential Brit makeup brand that's responsible for this look, Rimmel London.

An offshoot of the mod era of the 60s, the London Look has had it's share of variations and signature styles thanks to the likes of Jackie O, Mary Quant, and Jane Birkin, with any of the three ladies often only curling certain portions of the hair and donning eye makeup that matched the color of their dresses by a sliver. However, it was really Twiggy's London Look that set the trend on fire.

Surprisingly, color was a rare occurrence in 60s London. In the art scene as it was in the fashion scene, only key aspects came into focus and this meant the same with makeup. With the focus mostly on the eyes and on the hair, much of the face was left nude, matte, natural.

Here's what you need to get started with the look that the smart and sassy women in England have been known for.

1.Dewy Skin

Get the look started with a great canvas –naturally glowing, blemish-free skin. To achieve this, you will need to create a dewy skin base with a liquid foundation that closely matches your natural skin color. The base should be fresh with natural glamour.

2.Strong Upper Lid Liner

Leave the lower lid unlined since you will need a wide, round-eyed look ala Twiggy. Only on the upper lid, apply a thick, bold streak of liquid eyeliner near the lash line. Flick it up slightly towards the end, cat eyes style-not too long like Cleopatra's.

3.Dark and Defined Eye Sockets

Using dark brown, khaki, or beige as the base, shade the part of the lid within the socket line. Refrain from dusting the entire lid. Concentrate within the socket line and carefully blend up towards the brows.

4.Colorize

With mod hinting towards sudden splashes of color, experiment with the likes of the blueberry, peach, blush, and soft pinks in your eye palette.

5.Long, Lovely Lashes

Mascara is a must for this look. Slightly heat your eyelash curler with a blow dryer and start curling your lashes from the base to the tip for a smooth curl, not one that looks like its been folded. Apply mascara only to the outer corners of the lower lashes first. Next, apply mascara to the upper lashes, wiggling as you comb up. Accomplish this from the outer to the inner corner.

6.Neat Hair

Comb the hair at the crown back and then softly sweep the rest of the hair on one side and on the other.  (FREEMAN)
