Young-Once Teachers

The Grade School Department of Young-Once Teachers Association of the University of the Visayas gathered for a reunion at the Aznar Beach Resort in Talisay City.

Part of the affair was the election of a new set of officers for the year 2010-2011. Inducted into office were Luz Dagala, president; Warlita Aquino, vice president; Ofelia Bertulfo, secretary; Gelly Hayes, treasurer; Helenita Taborada, auditor; Nilda Correa and Gloria Suico, press relation officers. The members are Fernando and Violeta Gomez, Elias Mendoza Jr, Orlando Mabitad, Antonio Montebalcon, Aida Ferolino, May Silverio, Conchita Serohejos, Elizabeth Ando, Norma Falber, Nicanor Olivar, Ofelia Canoy and Luz Patalinhug. Induction was held at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. James Hayes in Talisay City.

Dr. Warfe Tupas Engracia: Rizada’s Lifetime Achievement Awardee

Rizada Development Corporation presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to a multi-awarded media and medical practitioner, Dr. Warfe Tupas Engracia. This was in sincere recognition and appreciation of his exemplary and outstanding support, contribution and dedication to the promotion and development of Cebuano arts and culture by sharing his distinct performing arts in the field of music, acting and literature.

The distinction is achieved with his unselfish devotion to his medical profession and his talent in the performing arts bringing the two fields of endeavor to a unique level of excellence benefiting the Cebuano community, locally, nationally and internationally.

The award was given last September 24 on the occasion of KBP’s Talents Night during the Broadcasters’ Month.
