CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, in cooperation with the Philippine Society of Climacteric Medicine, a component society of the International Menopause Society, will be celebrating the World Menopause Day this October 13, 2011 from 5:30-11:00 am at the Ayala Center Cebu. This is a global event observed during the whole month of October. The theme of the celebration “Menopause: The Time of My Life”, aims to increase awareness amongst menopausal and premenopausal women of the natural consequences during this important life event, and how to maintain and improve their health.
The day starts with Zumba aerobics to be led by Hon. Margot Osmeña at the Ayala Terraces grounds. A hearty breakfast follows. Free bone densitometry and blood sugar testing will be made available. This will be followed by a free-wheeling discussion at Ayala Cinema where the public may ask their menopause concerns from a panel of experts which include Dr. Maricar Quevedo, national PSCM president, and Prof Julian Manalastas, UP Diliman Psychology professor, together with local personalities.
