Another milestone to the Bluewater Resorts chain, the Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort which is located in an island known for its pristine white sand and sparkling blue waters, Panglao Island in Bohol recently had its grand opening two weekends ago. No less than the former Department of Tourism Secretary, Alberto Lim and Bohol Governor Edgar Chatto stood as guests of honor. Of course, the man behind the Bluewater chain, Consul General of the Republic of Austria, Honorable Arcadio “Dodong” Alegrado along with her amiable wife, Madam Marle Montalban-Alegrado, daughters June & Julie warmly welcomed all the guests that sunny Sunday morning. Of course, Julie’s ever-supportive hubby, Vic Vergara was very visible that day too.
The guest list was composed of personal family friends, friends from the travel industry and media and VIP’s, almost all from Cebu. All of us were transported via Supercat at 8:30 in the morning. Refreshments such as pastries and sandwhiches from the kitchen of Maribago Bluewater, sodas, fruit juices and coffee was served all throughout the trip. The moment we docked at theTagbilaran wharf, a very festive mood welcomed all of us. The drumbeatersplayed while each one of us proceeded to our pre-assigned coaches before the brief motorcade en-route to the resort.
As we entered the premises of the resort, a throng of its staff lined-up the driveway headed by no less than Consul General Alegrado and Julie greeted each and every guest one by one as they disembarked the coaches. The program which was hosted by Jude Bacalso started with the releasing of balloons by Consul General Alegrado and Julie to signal the opening of the luxurious resort. Then, guests were led to the main dining area, the AplayaRestaurant where Consul General Alegrado and Julie gave their welcome addresses. Thereafter, then Department of Tourism Secretary Alberto Limgave his inspirational message too, before lunch was served. During lunch, the Loboc Children’s Choir serenaded the guests. A mini fashion show followed and featured the impressive products of the island. June’s equally beautiful daughter, Izarra, and her friends did the catwalk showcasing, fashion accessories, bags, etc.
The luxury resort offers 54 rooms( 46 Deluxe Poolview, 4 Family Lofts, 3 Honeymoon Villas and 1 Family Villa), the Aplaya Restaurant which features a variety of delectable international and local cuisines, the Baroto Bar, the AmumaSpa. The resort also offers different recreational activities such as snorkeling, diving at the adjacent Marine Sanctuary and the nearby Balicasag Island, diving safaris, sailing and windsurfing and a gameroom. Leisure activities such as island activities and theme dinners, fishing and boat tours, Panglao Island, Dolphin and whale watching (seasonal), guided island eco and adventure tours are also being offered.
Time ran so fast that it was time to board our assigned coaches again to catch our semi-chartered Supercat trip back to Cebu. To the Alegrado family or theBluewater Resorts chain, congratulations and more power! Cheers!
