The Most Memorable Kiss
CEBU, Philippines - What are the unforgettable kisses you've experienced? I'm sure at your age you already have a lot stored in your memory.
I'm sure you still remember your first romantic kiss. It can be just a millisecond peck on the cheek or quick smack on the lips but just the same they were enough to send you on cloud nine. This kiss would still be on top of your "most memorable kisses list" up to now especially if the one you happened to kiss turns out to be still, or even more, beautiful when you check her out on Facebook.
We Pinoys, male or female, young or old, are also fond of using kisses as a bargaining chip. And even these kinds of kisses can be memorable even if they are just a casual cheek to cheek or lips on cheek. Friends, relatives, sometimes even total strangers mischievously ask for a kiss when you want to get small favors from them. This is actually part of our natural tendency to be "malambing" and usually results in us being a lot closer to the person who asked for it.
Memorable too are the stolen kisses we've made through the years. Whether they resulted in our getting slapped on the face or if they were so welcome and so upped the "kilig" factor of the one we kissed that we were allowed to continue.
Indeed surprise kisses add spice to life. And very recently, there is this one surprise kiss that I'm sure all of us beer-loving Pinoys remember. It's none other than the kiss that Efren "Bata" Reyes asked from the sexy waitress in the latest San Miguel Pale Pilsen commercial.
Now let's further probe this situation that Mang Efren has gotten himself into. We all know that even in this age where we can get almost anything in an instant, still a great majority of Pinays are proud of their modesty. So, even if you're one of the world's best billiards players, you're simply courting disaster if you ask to have "isang kiss" from any self-respecting Pinay that you just met.
Good thing, Mang Efren was quick to clarify that what he meant was "one case" of San Miguel Pale Pilsen and it might have been just his dentures or lack of it that got in the way of a clearer pronunciation.
This simple yet funny twist made this particular "kiss" very memorable. And it seems I'm not alone because I always see people in bars and restaurants mimicking the line as a way to catch the attention of the waitress, sexy or not, and automatically elicit laughter from his barkada before ordering a round of Pale Pilsen.
Have you tried doing Mang Efren's kiss? Next time you're out, capture the fun of a true San Miguel Pale Pilsen barkada and try ordering one kiss from the waitress. Who knows you might get more than a case of beer? (Wink-wink)
