Dame of St. Sylvester Award

Nine prominent and outstanding ladies who have rendered valuable and heartfelt services to the community received the Papal Award of the Dames of St. Sylvester conferred on them by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma with Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral last May 26.

Receiving the honors were businesswoman and philanthropist Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung, Rosa Maria Garcia, Alita Solon (C-CIMPEL), businesswoman Julie Gandionco, Anita Cabinian, Conchita Go, educator Lourdes Jereza, Lourdes Vilma Lee and Anita Sanchez.

Right after the solemn rites and conferment of the Dame of St. Sylvester, the honorees had a dinner reception at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.

By the way, Mariquita S. Yeung with some friends, left for New York last Wednesday to attend a wedding, thence will be flying to Rome to have an audience with Pope Benedict XVI. After which, she will be in London and Paris for a well-deserved respite!

At 2:00pm this afternoon, Christopher John Consunji will wed Charmaine Therese Juanillo at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. Bishop John Du will officiate the wedding ceremony assisted by Msgr. Agustine Ancajas and Rev. Fr. Socrates Saldua. Christopher is the son of Jonathan Consunji and Linda Du while Charmaine is the daughter of Dr. Manuel Juanillo and Ms. Teresita Juanillo. Reception will follow at the Casino Español de Cebu.
