8 = 143

- Lola Elyang -

CEBU, Philippines - Can something as big as 143 come from the number eight? How can that be?

Well, at The FREEMAN Foundation, we equate eight with 143 which stands for “I Love You”, through a donation campaign that will express more of your love for your fellow children.

Yesireee, Kid Stuffarians! Plenty of children out there are excited to be back to school. But some of them may not be able to have school supplies because their parents cannot afford to buy so.

We all know that you have a heart for these poor children because you were beautifully taught by your parents, as well as your teachers, to share your blessings. It’s a lot better to give than to receive, right?

Here’s how we do it: For every eight items you share, you will make a child happy because that means he/she will be receiving school supplies for school year 2011-2012. The charity arm or service arm of The FREEMAN, led by our General Manager Melandro “Sir Bhoi” Mendoza, with the members of the Core Group, will be tasked to distribute the donated items to the indigent children-recipients.

So, if you have eight spare writing notebooks, or eight boxes of crayons, eight unused pencils or ballpens, or maybe eight used but still functional sharpeners or rulers, we will receive the items here at The FREEMAN office. We are located at the Star Building, D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City. It is the yellow building across the right wing of Gaisano Main.

However, if your parents have the capacity to buy new school supplies for poor but deserving children – wow! – it would be so much the better!

Everything that you do in the name of charity is a manifestation of Love.

Truly, how wonderful it is to Love this way!
