Where quality life stems from

- Maria Eleanor E. Valeros -

CEBU, Philippines - If you’re existing - and yes, surviving - but not living happily, you’re not alone!

Despite leaps and bounds in technological advancement, modern medicine is still struggling in treating diseases, making it difficult for most of us to live happier, more meaningful lives.

Dr. George G. Eufemio, director and distributor of StemTech HealthSciences Inc., shed light on this observation in an enriching talk at the posh residence of Mr. Jimmy Casera Lao in Mandaue City last May 11. In his presentation attended by some of Lao’s close friends, business associates, and fellow members of the Rotary Club Cebu West, Dr. Eufemio shared on the Stem Cell Theory of Renewal in the hope of encouraging more people to indulge in the maintenance of one’s wellness and quality of life to make more doctors focus on prevention of ailments rather than on treatment of diseases.

Such Theory of Renewal proposes that stem cells are naturally released by the bone marrow and travel via the bloodstream toward tissues to promote the body’s natural process of renewal.

“When an organ is subjected to a process that requires renewal, such as the natural aging process, this organ releases compounds that trigger the release of stem cells from the bone marrow. The organ also releases compounds that attract stem cells to this organ. The released stem cells then follow the concentration gradient of these compounds and leave the blood circulation to migrate to the organ where they proliferate and differentiate into cells of this organ, supporting the natural process of renewal,” as explained in the presentation.

“Pity my professors don’t know about this,” the 81-year-old surgeon said in jest. “But we all know that when scientists tried growing adult stem cells, the endeavor was met with less success, as adult stem cells were difficult to grow in vitro for more than a few generations.”

Quoting again from the online link StemTech has maintained - www.stemtechbiz.com, he pointed out that this led to the conclusion that embryonic stem cells have more potential than adult stem cells. In addition, the ethical concerns linked to the use of embryonic stem cells influenced the equivocal coverage of embryonic stem cells by media.

“However, recent developments over the past two to three years have established that adult stem cells have capabilities comparable to embryonic stem cells in the human body, not in the test tube. Many studies have indicated that simply releasing stem cells from the bone marrow can help support the body’s natural process for renewal of tissues and organs,” as further explained in the presentation.

In line with this, Dr. Eufemio introduced StemEnhance which is a blend of two compounds extracted from the widely consumed aquatic botanical Aphanizomenon flos-aquae. “One extract, which contains an L-selectin ligand, supports the natural release of stem cells (CD34+cells) from the bone marrow. The other extract, a polysaccharide-rich fraction named Migratose (trademark), may support the migration of stem cells out of the blood into tissues,” the presentation went on.

StemEnhance source: Klamath Lake blue-green algae

Klamath Lake algae is a nutritional food supplement which is harvested each summer from Upper Klamath Lake in Klamath Falls, Oregon and consists almost exclusively of the filamentous blue-green algal species Aphanizomenon flos-aquae.

Abbreviated as AFA, it is a nutrient-dense food rich in vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, and proteins. The nutritional benefits of Klamath Lake algae thus for reported are increased energy levels, heightened mental clarity, improved memory and recall, relief of inflammatory conditions and an overall feeling of well-being.

“These algae are absolutely non-toxic. However, like many other agricultural products, the Klamath Lake algae may contain naturally occurring compounds, microorganisms or by-products of human activity that need to be monitored and controlled,” is the warning that came with the information.

Each batch (or lot) of Klamath Lake algae is subjected to a battery of scientific tests to ensure that the algae consistently meets the highest standards of safety and purity. Dr. Eufemio ensures that because of stringent process, Klamath Lake Algae is one of the purest and safest foods available.

“Let me just clarify that this is not medicine. This is oral dietary supplement in capsule form for stem cell enhancement that you may want to give a try if you’re bent more on preventing the onset of diseases,” he stressed.

Dr. Eufemio cited himself as one of the examples of “improved cases”. He mentioned of suffering from a stroke (small infarct) and for that, he had to undergo the usual stroke treatment.

“An infarct is an infarct – that’s how we were taught to believe,” he said. “But within a year and seven months of StemEnhance, a Magnetic Resonance Image showed of the disappearance of the infarct (in the western hemisphere of his brain) after and a fruitful experience of improved condition, renewed confidence, and total wellbeing, despite my age.”

Cases referred to him that showed wondrous signs of improved condition are Parkinson’s disease, psoriasis, cardiovascular condition like post angioplasty with stenting; Stage 4 breast cancer with chest wall recurrence; traumatic, non-healing scalp wound, Guillain-Barre syndrome, second-degree burns caused by scalding, transverse myelitis, polyneuropathy (lower extremities), diabetes mellitus, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, among many others.
