On the Red Carpet

CEBU, Philippines - Stars dazzled as everyone slipped into their Hollywood-inspired wardrobes for John Rey Guadalquiver's 24th party under the bright lights.

Guests strutted on the red carpet while posing to flaunt before paparazzis their fabulous smiles and gave thrilled fans their autographs. Among the dazzling VIP's were real life celebrities, Princess LiezaManzon and Tom Rodriguez of Pinoy Big Brother.

The Hollywood party was yet again hosted by Cebuano artist, Romel Abella, as the night kicked off with the gripping opening number of the DancerztoKnow Revived together with the birthday celebrator himself who came as "The Green Hornet."

The revelry continued as everyone enjoyed the fun games and performances of noted artists, The Divettes, Jake from Pilipinas Got Talent, Juggling Bartenders, DJ Boyet, Daryl Shane Leong, Gabrielle Gomez, IzzaBarwado, BenjieLayos and Kirby Moroscallo.

Everyone pandered to the scrumptious buffet and refreshing cocktails at the open bar while capturing memories now and then by the Photo Booth and with the party's live mannequins.

One of the most awaited portions was the Awarding Ceremony where guests whose Hollywood costumes stood out bagged some great prizes and freebies. The lucky champs for the night were the stars who came as The Joker, Lara Croft, Jessica Rabbit, Fred Flinstones, Mystique and Jack Sparrow.

The program finished off with a breath-taking fireworks display which signaled the time for everyone to show what they have got on the dance floor.

According to John Rey, his parties are never all about him. "I don't like the party to be mainly focused on me so I don't do any nostalgic or sentimental segments about my life. I don't even do speeches. It is always about my guests. It is everyone's party. It is everyone's time to shine," he pointed out.

Brigette Mante, one of the guests who sported a Black Swan-inspired look, shares how it is always a privilege to be invited to a John Rey Guadalquiver Party. "I can only define his parties in one word--awesome!" she concluded.
