Waterfront Cebu City Says Hello to Grandeur

CEBU, Philippines - Waterfront Philippines Inc. announced that it will be embarking on a multi-million renovation program geared towards improving further its flagship property in Cebu City, the 560-room Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino.

The project has three renovation phases: (1) the renovation of the grand lower lobbies of the hotel (ongoing); (2) the renovation of the function rooms (this year); and (3) the renovation of the larger convention facilities of the hotel (2012).

Designed by Steven J. Leach Jr. + Associates (Consultants) Incorporated (SL+A Manila), which is part of the world-renowned Steven Leach Group, the inspiration of the lobby’s new look is based on two main objectives: to transform the existing single dimension grand lobby into a multi-dimensional lifestyle-concept space and to improve traffic patterns through the construction of larger check-in areas and maximizing the lobby’s three entrances (for Pagcor players, guests and convention centers).

In a nutshell, the lobby project turnout is expected to be grander and more luxurious. According to GM Marco Protactio, it will be the first time Waterfront will be renovating its lobby in over 10 years. And according WPI Vice President for Special Projects Weslie Gatchalian, Waterfront Cebu City will be an all-in-one “biggest and most elaborate” entertainment complex comprising 10 F&B outlets, convention centers/function rooms, 24-hour gym and other premium amenities that guests will truly appreciate. Further, room renovations will also start on 2013.
