Oyo and Kristine
Wedding bells were ringing that one sunny afternoon by a lake in Batangas, surrounding the magnificent Taal Volcano. It was made extra special when Oyo (this day also happens to be his birthday), son of Marvic Sotto and Geraldyn Bonnevie and Kristine, daughter of Maximillan and Ma. Alma (neé Hermosa) Orille tied the knot to mark that one blissful moment that is the beginning of their new life together as husband and wife.
As Kristine walked down the aisle, a distant memory occurred to me, bringing me back to many years ago, when marriage was something we, as young girls, liked to talk and fantasize about. Seeing Oyo and Kristine grow so in love through the years had always led me to believe that it would be an official date down the aisle someday, somehow. I will never forget the look on both their faces when it had finally happened, a look that only describes love, contentment and anticipation. That was an overall amazing experience!
To complete this very intimate wedding affair, Oyo and Kristine carefully chose their principal sponsors, those close to their hearts – Malou Fagar and Senator Vicente Sotto, Dra. Isabel Nazal and Dr. Johnny Tan, Charo Santos-Concio and Johnny Manahan, Clarita Buencamino and Edmundo Jose Buencamino, Lucy Franco Garcia and Marcelino Sotto Jr.
All come from different areas of the couple’s lives. The rest of the entourage included the groom’s bestfriend, Prince Benmar Van Eldik as the bestman and the bride’s older sister, Michelle Kathleen Imperial as the maid of honor. Ma. Isabelle Maxine Orille, the bride’s younger sister was the junior bridesmaid. The secondary sponsors were Angelique Castro and Jonathan Tan for the candle, Danica Anna Pingris (the groom’s sister) and Jean Marc Pingris for the veil and Pamela Rose Estacio and Victor Sotto for the cord. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were this writer and Marius Santino Sotto, Penelope Ann Ramos and Viktor Eriko Sotto, Diana Rose Hermosa and Jose Mari Sarasola, Jennifer Marie Misa and Gian Carlo Sotto. Kristian Daniel Orille was the ring bearer, Joshua Miguel Orille as the bible bearer and Ronald Tupas as the coin bearer. Officiating the ceremony was Pastor Robert Gonzales.
Truly the best of friends, Oyo and Kristine made sure that their wedding gave everyone in attendance, as well as the whole country something to talk about, a marriage that is certainly for keeps. You’re finally married, my dearest friends. Congratulations!
