Summer Plans
What are your plans for the upcoming summer holiday? Yes, summer is coming soon and I can only imagine many of us counting down the days until we get there. Since the summer holiday only happens for just a few months in a year, take it as an opportunity to plan ahead and not let your plans go to waste.
However you choose to spend your summer holiday is your own personal choice. Having made the decision on whether you opt for paid or voluntary work is fantastic as well, making it wonderful to add on to your CV in the near future as work experience. It's a lot of work getting a job for the summer but it pays off at the end.
(1) Look into the newspaper classified ads; this makes one of the best options around. You will find a huge list on a daily basis, most especially on weekends. Grab what you think suits you and contact them ASAP, before anyone else does. (2) Try asking around for recommendations from friends, family or even pop into your favourite company if you are curious enough to know if they offer jobs for the summer. (3) Start a small business from home, [i.e. selling homemade goodies, treats and other items] it's a good way to get yourself organized sensibly. (4) Check online as there are loads of helpful job sites. Some require work experience and some don't. Others look for the right qualifications and some don't, so keep searching what suits you best.
Some individuals opt to travel for the summer holiday as opposed to having some work experience. Either way is fine, your summer is what you make of it. Plus, there are a whole lot of things you can get from venturing out into this world.
This is probably the best time to do so for the ones out of school/work for a period of time. Open your mind and senses and imagine a place where you'd like to spend the rest of your summer before getting back to reality. It's easy, look for an amazing travel bargain in advance, one that suits your taste and budget as well.
There are many options to choose from, so whatever works best for you: (1) Seek advice from your travel agent for summer fun trips that cater to your selection. There are many agencies in the city that offer trips with great deals, be it locally or internationally. (2) Go online. Cebu Pacific Air offers a huge selection of fun tours (flight + hotel combined). Many wonderful deals are constantly offered so do watch out for it as it changes quite frequently. For accommodations ONLY, www.hotels.com.ph is another alternative. The upside to this website is that the prices are quoted in PHP as opposed to other currencies. This creates lesser confusion to the buyer for its current exchange rate. Plus, taxes and other charges are added on as well, so there's no catch to that upon checking in/out at your preferred hotel. (3) Read up on your destination. The Lonely Planet range has an extensive collection of books that are helpful for every traveler, both experienced or not. Even the smallest of towns or villages in the middle of nowhere can sometimes be featured in detail, which is very helpful for the more adventurous type. Or look up your destination online for more travel advice. It's always best to read up on your destination and what to expect beforehand to avoid unexpected and unnecessary situations. Remember, you are the traveler, so be smart and sensible. That's all it takes.
Entertain yourself this summer and create a summer holiday that suits you best, don't let the days go to waste!
