The Grand Ballroom of the Cebu City Marriott Hotel was the setting of the traditional Hail-Farewell celebration during the changing-of-the-guards…welcoming the young and good looking Scottish-American General Manager Bruce Winton and bidding goodbye to a dear friend, Roy Daniel Abraham. Sad to say, but Roy couldn’t be at the affair since he was in the US for health reasons.
When Roy’s good friend, Consul John Domingo spoke on his behalf, he then requested everyone to say a prayer in silence, for Roy who was to go under the knife that very moment we were celebrating the event. And praise the Lord, Roy is now in the pink if health.
Albeit so many were somewhat emotional, the party went on as scheduled and planned. There was a spectacular display of the world known Marriott hospitality and excellent service as the sales and marketing department of CCMH, dressed as Marriott Air’s cabin crew, wowed the guest passengers who walked down the corridor leading to the ballroom where they experienced first class travels in the imaginary departure lounge with cocktails and sumptuous array of hors d’oeuvres. And of course, fine wines and spirits to the hilt!
Anyway, despite the absence of Roy Abraham, Cebu City Marriott Hotel’s new General manager Bruce Winton absolutely made sure the affair was both entertaining and unforgettable!
