CEBU, Philippines - The menu is predominantly Austrian with an Asian twist. Formerly Vienna Kaffeehaus for 10 years, Vienna Bistro puts on a new garb as a “wine and dine” culinary space that masterfully whips modern eats through an artistic, sophisticated plating style. “It’s (food) an artwork,” quipped Charina Po, part-owner and the cook at the same time.

For artwork, Charina means encompassing the modern plating style of course, but also reflects of a wonderful fusion of flavors courtesy of Charina who carries with her the passion for culinary arts and also a certification from the Academy for International Culinary Arts.

Vienna Bistro however still carries some of Vienna Kaffeehaus’ specialties that truly introduced Austrian cuisine to Cebuanos (sausages are still available) but new owners Charina and husband Edgar Allan along with Eric Mendoza (former franchisee of Vienna Kaffeehaus - Mandaue branch) introduced additions to the menu – pizza choices, desserts, sandwiches, pastas and guilt-free salads aside from new entrees such as Beef Salpicao, Beef Stroganoff, among others. The new feature is the wine (list) which is best enjoyed with every dish.

Charina recommends their Baby Back Ribs (P185) above all, paired with red wine. She prefers it baked than grilled, then coated with their secret recipe of fruity barbeque sauce.

With a 50-seating capacity and a function room (P3,000 consumable) that can occupy a maximum of 20 pax, Vienna Bistro which is now fully operational is all set to serve its patrons with modern fusion fare. They also cater to parties and small gatherings for only P4,800 for five dishes good for 30 to 40 persons.
