Gatorade Fuels the NBA Legends ties up with nba for this year's nba asia challenge

CEBU, Philippines - Gatorade teamed up with NBA Asia Challenge to ensure an exciting, well-played, and action-packed performance at the Big Dome recently.

The Official Sports Drink of the NBA and NBA Asia Challenge, Gatorade makes sure that the best athletes in the world are fit, healthy, and ready to take their performance to the next level in every game. Gatorade is made to rehydrate the body and replenish nutrients lost during physical activity.

"Gatorade is about helping people - from the most admired athletes like our NBA and PBA stars, to Filipino basketball fans - enhance their game and be more competitive," said Steve Romasanta, Marketing Director, PepsiCo. "We've had a long partnership with the NBA and through the years, we have taken care of the NBA's hydration needs. We're excited to be part of NBA Asia Challenge and enable more people to realize how they can perform better in sports."

As part of this year's NBA Asia Challenge, Gatorade also launched a tie-up with 7-ELEVEN to give lucky basketball fans the opportunity to see their favorite NBA stars up close in a Meet and Greet session prior to the much-awaited NBA Asia Challenge 2010 Exhibition Game.

Out of over 20,000 entries, 10 winners were chosen and these fans were given the chance to see face-to-face six-time NBA All-Star Chris Webber.

Joining the NBA stars in the exhibition game were the local league's most popular players, including PBA legends Allan Caidic, Ronnie Magsanoc, Benjie Paras, Vergel Meneses, Atoy Co and Alvin Patrimonio.

"It's no secret that Filipinos are among the biggest basketball fans in the world, and this event lets them meet and get to know their sports idols," said Romasanta. "We're pleased to give them this rare chance to chat with these stars and learn tips on how they too can perform and compete like their favorite athletes."
