Chowder live at Ayala
CEBU, Philippines - Thrice cream break, Kidstuffarians!
The cast of Cartoon Network’s “Chowder” was at the Ayala Activity Center during the weekend to treat kids to an awesome live performance.
Main characters Mung Daal, the founder and chef of Mung Daal’s Catering Company, his employee – the rock monster who goes by the name of Shnitzel, and his apprentice – the purple cat-bear-rabbit creature Chowder came up with a live sing-and-dance cooking show to demonstrate to kiddies how to prepare perfect Froggy Apple Crumple Thumpkin (actually, an episode that later on got its DVD format) out of 12-legged cave frog and the no-fruit that when clubbed good turns to an apple.
Prior to that, the crew from Marzipan City cooked “Sing Beans” with the happy beat of a pod of green sing beans seasoned with an acoustic guitar.
Kids got the chance to meet and greet (and for photo ops, of course) Chowder and company at the backstage right after the show.
In culinary terms, chowder means thick soup; mung daal is a spicy stew with beans, and shnitzel (supposedly with a “c” in between “s” and “h”) is a thin cutlet of veal, usually seasoned, that is dipped in batter and fried.
