The RC-Cebu Fuente night

The Rotary Club of Cebu  Fuente had two reasons to celebrate last July 3. Aside from their annual induction of new sets of officers for the year, the club gained quite a number of awards for the Rotary Year 2009-2010, which includes the following: Most Outstanding Club, Most Outstanding President, Most Outstanding Secretary, Most Outstanding PR, Most Outstanding Rotary Foundation Project, Most Outstanding Community Service Project, Outstanding Club Administration and a Distinguished Medals to RC-Fuente Past President Me’anne Alcordo-Solomon as District Group Study Exchange Head.

Inducted into office for the Rotary Year 2010-2011 are: Jesse Baring, President; Dinna Ramos, Vice President; Shamy Ong, Secretary; Bong Dumanacal, Treasurer; Sol Pasion, Auditor; Joal Abad, Sgt. at Arms; Me’Anne Solomon, Public Relations; Tina Bacalso, Club Administrator; Jane Frias, Community Service 1 Director, Dinna Ramos, Community Service 2 Director; Lulu San Pedro, Vocational Service 1 Director; Teenie Tio, Vocational Service 2 Director and Anya Lim, Youth Service Director. 

New members and honorary members were inducted that evening, too. They were Sheila Clementes of Union Bank of the Philippines, Mafe Castillo of MSY Holdings Corporation and Carlo Dimaala of Allied Bank as new members and Stephen Brian Lee of Uratex, Joy Polloso of Ayala Center Cebu/ Cebu Holdings Inc, and Raki Vega-Sui as honorary members.

The Outstanding Rotarians for Rotary Year 2009-2010 were also recognized. Hall of Famers were Te Gonzales, Dinna Ramos and Me’Anne Alcordo-Solomon. The program also included the launch of the Eye Bank by Dr. Cymmer Go, the renewal and signing of sister club ties with RC Cainta, RC Ormoc and RC Midtown Tarlac, the turnover of donations from RC Makati Paseo to CITOM through CITOM Chief Jack Jakosalem, folding beds and pillows from Uratex to Mary Queen of Heaven Missionaries (Home of Love) and to DSWD- Lingap - Toledo City.

Of course, the lighter side of the evening was the fellowship with Rotarians from other clubs in Cebu, Ormoc, Tagbilaran, Iloilo, Tarlac and Makati who made it that night. Adding more glitter and prestige to the affair was the presence of Rotarian Past District Governors: IPDG Tony Veneracion, PDG Yumi Espina, PDG Toto Locsin, PDG Ray Patuasi, PDG Jaypee Cadaing, PDG Toto Cupin, PDG and Honorary Consul General of Austria Dodong Alegrado, PDG Jesse Chua and the club’s lone Lifetime Fountain Awardee Past President Ching Hai Go

Rotary Year 2010-2011 will be another BC-BC year for the Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente as these Rotarians vow to BUILD COMMUNITIES and BRIDGE CONTINENTS. Mabuhay!
