CEBU, Philippines - At an early age, proactive designer Protacio clearly has a talent for precise cutting, which is already obvious in both his flouncy, exquisite gowns and sharp tailoring. Fast forward after his entry back in the 80s and alluding to the gaudy excess of that era, Protacio whipped up a heady combination of references for his latest wedding ensemble: A fitted white coat and a hand-painted bow tie were livened up with a citrine tinted undershirt. Prints on bridesmaids and flowergirls’ dresses included everything from Gauguin-like motifs to a strapless organdy wedding dress inspired by 50s magazine images and iconic drawings. Protacio most recently joined a group of event professionals with decades of experience to form Lifetime Events Depot.
“Dream on” seems to be the mantra of the group as they encourage brides (and their families who back them up) to fulfill their dreams of once-in-a-lifetime occasions via the expertise of Lifetime Events Depot. This 50s Tropical themed wedding featured here is among the many. Sensational reception set ups by Lush Blooms, a chocolate fountain that sent me drooling by Ralyn plus her nostalgia inducing invitations, a colorific layered cake by Chedz, maquillage by Jesse Glova, must-have giveaways by Charmaine Ong, flawless coordination by Kenn and Claire Villaflor and for posterity, precise photography by Rolando Pascua and of course, Protacio’s wedding ensemble and voila! A dream wedding straight from the pages of Vogue’s June 1955 issue. Best wishes!
