Summer Craze

Gaisano Metro Mandaue recently presented the Metro Dance Crew at the Entertainment Hall. It was a series of weekly eliminations that catapulted the top five dance crews to the grand finals held last April 18.

Type One (best in costume), Next One, All-Star, Philippinedemix and Cool Attraction battled for the top prize. The latter won first place and received P3,000 worth of prizes.

The show was conceptualized by Metro Mandaue’s event coordinator Rose Espinosa.

Meanwhile, last April 25 was a special day for the quiet town of Clarin, Bohol as eight dance groups from the different neighboring areas came face to face in an ultimate hiphop battle dubbed as “Summer Dance Explosion.”

Hiphop crews Friendz Society, All-Out Crew, Beat Crew, Kids on Act, Mix Boys, Technotronix, Raineuvers and Holy Cross Academy battled onstage. But it was Technotronix, an all-male group hailing from Tagbilaran City, who won the top prize, as well as the awards for best in costume and best B-Boy Icon.

The event was produced and sponsored by the Schulboyz, in cooperation with the SK Federation of Clarin.
