CEBU, Philippines - It was in 2008 when Nicole Acriche started Bullyshanty Fashion, the online shop that is infamous among young Cebuanas for its trendy and affordable items. Nikki as she is popularly known, defines her products as “gorgeous, fabulous, and divalicious.”

Every week she uploads photos of clothes and accessories, which she sells at relatively low rates, usually ranging between P150-P400. So it is no surprise that in a matter of one day (or sometimes a few hours), Bullyshanty’s latest merchandises are considered sold.

What makes Bullyshanty stand out among all other online sellers is Nikki’s personal touch in the items. This young fashionista only sells clothes that she herself would wear. With Nikki’s impeccable taste, customers are assured of only the best. According to Nikki, “Some are just selling for the sake of selling... I make sure that what I’m selling is of good taste and quality.”

Quality is really an issue when it comes to shopping online since customers can’t touch or feel the texture of the dress they’re purchasing, but with Bullyshanty Fashion, they don’t have to worry about that!

Before she used the Internet as a platform, Nikki started out by selling to her college classmates. She recalls bringing big bags full of clothes to school. She still does that now, except you will mostly find her in coffee shops for the “meet-ups,” waiting for her customers to claim their items. 

In the many years that she has been in the industry, Nikki has gathered a strong group of clients who faithfully await her latest batch of goodies. Patty Taboada, a long-time suki of Bullyshanty, attests that despite seeing the dresses only in photos, once she gets it, it would always look good on her. Plus there’s the advantage of shopping from your own home. “I get lazy going to the malls,” she said.

Nikki has also participated in bazaars in I.T. Park and SM. When asked if she plans on opening a boutique soon, Nicky said that, “It would be nice to have one, but I have other plans as of now.”
