Summer's Back..In Style

CEBU, Philippines - Summer never felt this hot! The sun just keeps on shining with a frenzied fashion fever, splashing color everywhere.

If you’re in a mood to keep up with the mood of the moment, what better way to cool off than to chill in style as the STYLEFIRM bring back two workshops aimed at keeping fashion on its feet this summer. STYLISSIMO SESSIONS 2010 re-introduces the Fashion Modeling and Fashion Design courses to Cebu’s aspiring design ingénues and fashionsistas who want to learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitude, help them start and walk their way to a fashion career in the near future.

With a good cause in mind, and another year for new beginnings, STYLEFIRM partnered with the Cebu Design Education Foundation ( CDEF ), a non-profit organization formed to help and promote Cebu’s design community, to further strengthen our goals and make the workshop effectively accessible and convenient for our sessionistas. Through the Chiye Mori Design Library, as the venue for the lectures and discussion activities, both CDEF and STYLEFIRM dream of sketching and threading new creative ideas in honing local artists and continue to inspire young talents to fervently take a step up and discover the next big thing in Cebu.

Mentored by top names in design, fashion, media and entertainment, the workshops are stylized with a basic approach, but with specific objectives catered to bring out the best in every sessionista. Mentors work on their assets and give personalized tips as to which fashion career suits them, assess what path each individual can possibly lead to based on their strengths and weaknesses, and give realistic ideas as they continuously learn weekly tasks and on site drills. Sessionistas are also allowed to participate “behind the scenes” as Stylissimo brings them backstage where the real action takes place, so that they may feel what it’s like to be in the fashion world. From fashion shows, to style events, from designers work area to fabric warehouses, each individual can experience a bit of everything, while they relate to each aspect and somehow learn the tricks of the trade.

Stylissimo is open to all male and female applicants from teens to adults, students or professionals, who appreciate art in different strokes, and want to learn insight on fashion , either for work and business knowledge , or simply for personal fulfillment.
