Want to immigrate to Canada?

- Quennie S. Bronce -

CEBU, Philippines - Many Filipinos have opted to migrate to other countries for reasons like more opportunities and security for the family. The United States, Canada, Australia are among the countries where Filipinos have built new homes and established new ties.

But not everyone who dreams of migrating have been lucky to fulfill what they aspire for. Migration procedures cost much and some people could not just afford to pay. Others who have explored ways to be able to meet the monetary requirements still failed to see their dreams come true because they have been victimized by unscrupulous people, who ran off with their money.

These are the very reasons why a Canadian immigration lawyer has put up an office here in the Philippines. Stacey Belding, an immigration lawyer based in Winnipeg, Canada, recently opened an office in Manila and is planning to open other offices in key cities in the country to provide Canadian immigration assistance.

Stacey, who is married to a Filipino from Nueva Ecija, has had a lot of experience dealing with Filipinos who are already in Canada and has found Filipinos to be well suited for migration. She said that Filipinos have a good command of English and can easily adapt to a new environment.

Atty. Belding’s office at the Asiana Power Station in Paranaque City provides legal assistance for permanent residency, business class, student visa, work permits and visitor visas, among others.

Why go to an immigration lawyer like Atty. Belding? Filipinos facing different travel problems in foreign countries is nothing new to us. We frequently hear about these problems.

“Although it is not really a requirement to get the services of an immigration lawyer, getting one to assist you with your needs, especially when wanting to work, live, study or visit Canada can save time and can spell the difference between denial and success,” said Atty. Belding.

An immigration lawyer will be more knowledgeable about the process and will know what you need, she added.

“We frequently see Filipino performers contracted for shows in Canada facing a myriad of troubles, such as payment issues, poor promotion, and other contractual breaches by the producers or promoters. Performers working in another country need to be especially vigilant as enforcement of their rights in a foreign jurisdiction and after they have rendered their services can be very difficult, or even impossible if proper legal precautions were not taken,” Atty. Belding explained.

She emphasized that the first thing to do when planning to migrate to Canada is to get the services of someone who is knowledgeable of the system there. “Some applicants get denied because they lack papers, or they were misrepresented. These problems can actually be avoided and the applicant can save time and money.”

Atty. Belding’s office in Manila offers free assessments and even accepts installment payments for the firm’s services. “All the processing and legal work is done in Canada so applicants really do not have to worry because the ones taking care of their application are people who know the system,” she said.

Filipinos, according to Atty. Belding, are more successful in Canada, compared to other immigrants. But, she added, that moving to Canada or to any other country for that matter, is not easy.

“There are challenges, of course, like the weather and credentials recognition but most Filipinos will a job that is suited for them after a few years. Many Filipinos have even opened businesses in Canada,” she shared.

Make that first step of going closer to your dream of migrating to Canada with the proper guidance and assistance of an able immigration lawyer. Visit Atty. Stacey Belding’s office now or get in touch with her at Tel. Nos. (02) 8533225 or send an email to [email protected]
