Alegre awards its Employees of the Year 2009

CEBU, Philippines - Alegre Beach Resort & Spa selected its Employees of the Year for 2009.The awardees are Herberto A. Casis, Employee of the Year (“Heart of the resort” – back of the house) and Serlyn P. Cabahug Employee of the Year (front of the house – guest services).The awardees were chosen by the panel of resort managers based on year-round performance, customer service quality, guest feedback and work ethics and are seen to serve as models for their peers.

Herberto A. Casis is a handyman – mechanic of Alegre’s Engineering department and a boat mechanic of the Aquasports department who has served for seven years.A resident of Barangay Calumboyan, Sogod, Cebu, Herberto values his role of ensuring all vehicles and watercrafts are in good condition.He also loves entertaining guests when on a cruise with one of the resort’s boats and attending to their needs.Many of his co-employees call him “Smiley” as he smiles a lot and is very friendly.

Serlyn P. Cabahug is a food and beverage service cashier cum service attendant who has also served at Alegre for seven years and is a resident of Barangay Damolog, Sogod, Cebu.Serlyn finds challenges she faces everyday stimulating as each guest has a different personality that she has to adjust to.Being attentive, friendly and accommodating satisfies most of her guests.

To their fellow employees, Herberto gives the advice to love their work and to have good relationship to all employees; while Serlyn advises them to focus on the job, love their work, try to remember guests’ names and their specific special wishes and requirements, be loyal to the company and dedicate their work to their family.Serlyn also advises employees to widen their knowledge regarding customer services by attending seminars and trainings, aside from reading books and magazines.
