Go Green in 2010 with Firefly Eco-Friendly Lights

CEBU, Philippines - As we usher in the New Year, let’s all do Mother Nature a favor by switching to Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs). Firefly Electric & Lighting Corp. (FELCO) espouses the use of Firefly CFLs in the local market to give Filipinos the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of cost-efficient “green living” and help preserve the environment in the comfort of their homes.

CFLs are fluorescent lamps that give off light similar to common incandescent bulbs but with reduced energy consumption and longer life, making it economical and practical to use at the same time.

Firefly CFLs last up to five times longer than regular incandescent bulbs, using only about one-fourth the energy, producing 80 percent less heat while producing more light per watt. According to FELCO Marketing Manager Jhie Greenwood, Filipino households can realize substantial savings by switching to Firefly CFLs. “Firefly CFLs are energy efficient and cost effective. If a 60-watt regular incandescent bulb is replaced with a 15-watt Firefly CFL, Filipino families can save up to P600 every year and still enjoy the warm and cozy lighting of a regular incandescent bulb at a much affordable cost and without harming the environment,” explained Greenwood.

Firefly CFLs come in three color temperatures - daylight, warm white and cool daylight. Each variant provides a unique lighting experience for the home’s indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures such as table lamps, downlight fixtures, ceiling fixtures and garden fixtures.

Firefly CFL in “Daylight” mimics the natural light source. Consumers can use this to light up areas in the house where natural light is needed such as the living room and dining area.

Firefly CLF in “Warm white” highlights the red and orange hues and is used to create a cozy atmosphere. Consumers can use this type of CFL to create a warm ambiance in the bedroom and personal nooks.

Firefly CFL in “Cool daylight” underscores the blue and green tones and is usually used to create a clean and crisp atmosphere. Consumers can use this to light up their work stations.
