December Delights

CEBU, Philippines - Yes, the holidays just breezed through! And here’s a thing I have learned when a highly anticipated event is along the horizon: go with the flow. So I did. As the chilly December air beckoned every night backed with yuletide high spirits, I drifted with it and it landed me to some delightful and memorable celebrations and shindigs that only this clinquant season can offer.

The month opened with the joyous celebration as young couple Aljew and Chiny Frasco sealed their love in the bond of marriage. To the groom’s wish of a wedding at the historical church of Boljoon, friends and relatives flocked to the southern town to witness their union. The quaint town became abuzz as guests came dressed to the nines enjoying a sumptuous buffet spread at the town’s boulevard. But prior to that, the three-day event began with an intimate pre-nuptial dinner hosted by the bride’s family at one of the resorts in the southern town. The celebration was concluded with yet another bountiful dinner at the luxurious Amara Residences clubhouse in hometown Liloan.

By mid-month, there was no stopping the holiday parties. Of course our beloved publication was on top of my list as fellow writers, editors and staff flocked to the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino dressed as their favorite celebrities! Yes, it was Hollywood in the City filled with loads of fun, camaraderie and lots of surprises.

As Christmas drew nearer, the dinners, cocktails and reunions sailed me towards the New Year. Most notable was Vudu’s annual Invierno Winter Party where the city’s bold and beautiful, dressed in pure white, all came together for another unforgettable holiday ball.
