The Best of Cebu: The Saga Continues

CEBU, Philippines - The Northwing of SM City Cebu once again cemented its reputable image as Cebu’s ultimate lifestyle destination most recently as it became the arena for an engagement that appealed to the finer things in life. Dubbed My City, My SM, it showcased, among other things, the best Cebu has to offer in terms of the arts, fashion, music, cuisine and furniture. Opening with a grand salvo last weekend, it showcased exhibits featuring haute couture gowns worn by Cebu City’s first lady Margot Osmeña, Cebu’s first lady governor Gwen Garcia and gowns worn by former Miss Cebu winners as designed by Philip Rodriguez, Wendell Quisido and Harley Ruedas. Furthermore, works of chic eventologist Mdme. Teresin Mendezona, the latest from furniture maverick Kenneth Cobonpue and surreal photographs taken by Billy Mondoñedo were also on display.

Highlighting the opening of My Cebu, My SM were a musical extravaganza vis-à-vis fashion show that featured divas Eva Santos, Raki Vega and Dulce belting out our favorite Cebuano songs from the heart. Philip Rodriguez’ Mantones collection of fringed and floral appliquéd ensemble floated in the runway with live music accompaniment from the Peace Philharmonic Orchestra. Sumptuous food and beverages provided by Café Laguna followed immediately after the show. The exhibit will run until January 17, 2010. So, for those who treasure our rich heritage, do take time to savor it. Bravissimo!
