Soiree Beaujolais @ The Marco Polo Plaza

CEBU, Philippines - The Marco Polo Plaza once again celebrates the year’s grandest wine festival with the rest of the world— Soiree Beaujolais 2009!

On November 27, be part of one of Cebu’s most prestigious and glittering social events as lovers of wine from Manila, Cebu and all parts of the world converge up on Nivel Hills to enjoy music, laughter, abundant amounts of Beaujolais Nouveau as well as the treasured culinary delights of various regions of France.

The Tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau was first brought to Philippine shores in 1994, held in Manila where it continues to draw even bigger crowds of wine lovers every year since. Each November, over a million cases of wine embark on a journey from little villages and towns in France to be shipped to all parts of the world. This tradition has become a global race to be the first to serve this new wine of the harvest. Cases of wine have been transported by land, air or sea – via helicopters, cargo ships, motorcycles, and even elephants – to get them to their final destination, where they are distributed and drunk in one of the most frivolous and vibrant rituals in the world with banners proclaiming the good news: Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrive! “The new Beaujolais has arrived!” In 2007, the Beaujolais Nouveau was brought to Cebu for the first time.

In keeping with tradition, Soiree Beaujolais at the Marco Polo Plaza will feature the uncorking of Le Beaujolais Noveau, dinner buffet with a wide range of authentic French cuisine and desserts, free-flowing fine wines and cheeses, and lots of outstanding raffle prizes! 

Guests will also enjoy scintillating entertainment by visiting French accordionists and street dancers, and dance music by the popular Renaissance band. The event will be hosted by Johnny Litton and Cory Quirino.
