The Mayor Celebrates
One of the youngest and most promising politicians around the province, Mayor Moonyeen Durano of the Municipality of Sogod, opted to celebrate her recent birthday with an ordinary lunch with her department heads and municipal employees. But not until a very good friend from way back insisted that the energetic mayor should also celebrate it with her closest friends who are based in the city and for quite some time, haven’t seen her as often as before since she assumed public office years ago. The well-loved lady mayor is known among her constituents as one who does her job with passion and devotion, to the extent that she hardly has the time to unwind and give herself a break. Thanks to Vince Escario who add the prodding, Mayor Moonyeen agreed to do lunch with her department heads and municipal employees and a little dancing back in the city with her good old friends which she practically grew up with.
The venue for that “second party” was the ultra chic Formo at the Banilad Town Center. With the help of PR genius and the celebrator’s good friend Jaja Chiongbian-Rama and Mayor Moonyeen’s close friend Dodong Bandibas, the party just came out perfect. It wasn’t really a big one, it was more of an intimate thing with a “select” group of friends and her Durano cousins, enjoying the 80s hits being played the whole night long, courtesy of one of Cebu’s best, DJ Gilbert.
Mayor Moonyeen is a picture of a simple yet accomplished lady. Definitely not an easy task to do, but she is a “two-in-one” mother. That, being a “mother” to the Municipality of Sogod and a mother to her loving children Joseph Thadddeus or “Jeno” and daughter Maria Leanne. I doff my hat to you, Mayor Moonyeen, the woman of the new millenium! May your tribe multiply! Happy Birthday and more power!
