Wonder Babe

CEBU, Philippines - Lani Osmeña celebrated her impending birthday with a super 80s bash at the trendy chill-out nightspot, Treff.  Guests wore outfits with pretty bows and primary colors to blend in with the theme, while Lani herself chose a strong and sexy almost-nothing shift that showed off her knock-out figure.

Dashing husband Mimo Osmeña was on hand to receive the guests, while jet set figures Margie Lhuillier and Minnie Osmeña were fashionably late.

Treff whipped out a sticky chocolate-brown birthday cake, scrumptious enough to break any diet for, while Agnes Huettel delivered a mint-green confection for more calorie-laden guilt.  At the same time, cheese escargot and primavera wraps steadily found their way into everybody’s guts, along with the margaritas, white wine and booze galore.

The highlight of the evening was when gal pal Claudine Darza-Ugarte whipped out the surprise video for Lani.  Nothing like Haydn and Katrina’s tapes: this merely had stolen shots of Lani teaching her originally clueless friends some dance steps from the Korean hit Wonder Girls.

Best female friends like Pia Mantecon, Arcy Gayatin and Christine Pelaez showed off their wonder moves, and macho men Doug Border and Mikel Ugarte gamely joined in the fray, demonstrating how a wee bit of alcohol can help in memorizing the choreography to Nobody But You.

Michael Jackson and Madonna’s music were constant companions throughout the night, and the party was so fabulous, it lasted ‘til 3:00 am.  What more could a celebrant want – great friends around her, a new dance move, and excellent wine to wait for her birthday.
