CEBU, Philippines - Since 2000, Plantation Bay Resort and Spa has been enrolling qualified staff members in some of the most prestigious educational institutions in different parts of the world. All enrollees are given full study grants inclusive of tuition, living allowance and assistance with Visa applications.
For 2009, the privilege is extended to 18 managers and supervisors. Twelve are participating in the Professional Development Program Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in New York. One training officer will study in Nanyang University, Singapore. Others are enrolled in Koenig Solutions, India; Ecole Hoteliere in Lausanne, Switzerland; and the Culinary Institute of America in California.
Plantation Bay places a premium on staff training despite economically trying times. Resort management recognizes that quality, consistency and improvement of hotel services are crucial to being a key player in the hotel industry.
Plantation Bay was ranked 16th of the 25 best resorts in Asia, and is the only Philippine resort on the Conde Nast Traveler Gold List 2009. Mogambo Springs, the Spa at Plantation Bay, was also recently judged the Best Spa Experience in Asia at the Asia Spa and Wellness Festival 2009.
