Globe duo launched

Last May 21, some “biggies” from Globe Telecom headed by Ferdinand “Ferdz” dela Cruz, Head of the Consumer Wireless Business Group; Cathy Palanca-Santamaria, Segment Business Group Head; Manny A. Aligada, Customer Engagement Consumer Wireless Business Group Head and Menchie Cruz, Corporate Communications Group, breezed into town and gathered some friends from the local tri-media to announce and introduce another breakthrough service from Globe over a sumptuous lunch at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino.  

The latest innovation launched was the Globe DUO, a service which puts together mobile and landline voice services in one, giving consumers added convenience as well as a cheaper landline. DUO enables subscribers to make unlimited calls from Globe to any landline number and from any landline to Globe, as well as to and from any DUO postpaid mobile subscriber.  

The innovation was initially rolled-out to Globe postpaid subscribers exclusively in Cebu and Manila. But during the event, Ferdz dela Cruz informed us that they have chosen Cebu as the first city to experience this service in prepaid. Wow! And yes, we Cebuanos did and are continuously enjoying the service since last May 25. Such an honor indeed for us!

Santacruzan sa Sugbo

It was an afternoon of beauties and beautiful songs when SM City Cebu had its “Santacruzan sa Sugbo” one sunny Sunday afternoon. Cebu’s top models paraded around the North Wing of SM all donning the Filipiniana Terno creations of the members of Clothes for Life. No less than the country’s top broadway/opera artist Bo Cerrudo serenaded the beautiful ladies and the audience, as well. Lapulapu City Councilor and former ramp model Queenie Malingin-Amann stood as Reina Emperatriz while model/beauty queen turned businesswoman Merce Abellana-Brenner was the Reina Elena.
