Perpetual Paradise in Plantation Bay
CEBU, Philippines – June ushered in the rainy season and a host of abominable viruses that go with the wet season. You don’t have to travel far and wide to escape the rains and experience a heightened sense of adventure. In world class Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, a travelogue while staying in the relaxing village atmosphere with colonial-plantation architecture is de rigueur. What with restos named Fiji, Kilimanjaro Kafe, Palermo and Savannah Grill.
It didn’t take long for us to heed the call that beckoned us in Plantation Bay. Our lagoon view room boasted of a wide expanse of space with white as the definitive color from the walls to the huge double beds to the veranda where the water from the lagoon lapped gently. With R and R as the order of the day, we trooped to the lagoon for the exhilarating dip followed by a long afternoon nap. Dreams of dinner were already high in anticipation of the famed Hawaiian luau party themed buffet. In Hawaii, the word “luau” means “feast.” Luaus are typically large parties where groups of family and friends gather to share good food and good fun, so Plantation Bay transported us to Hawaii. And we weren’t disappointed. Hawaiian luau dancers entertained us as we dined. Rings of fire on a boat, colorful grass skirts, muscled men and the hypnotic beat of the drums had the sandbar right smack in the middle of the lagoon dripping with energy.
Bravissimo!
