Cebu Business Month Grand Opening at Ayala Center

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) formally kicked off the 2009 Cebu Business Month last June 1 at Ayala Center Cebu’s Activity Center. The event was graced by Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña, who gave the opening remarks.

Also present were CCCI President Samuel Chioson, Cebu Business Month Chairperson Jay Yuvallos and the chairpersons of the three main thrusts: for Entrepreneurship, Bunny Pages in behalf of Kate Dychangco-Anzani, for Tourism, Mila Espina and for Information and Communication Technology, Jerry Rapes.

This year’s CBM theme, “Get Inspired!” aims to inspire motivate and excite the new generation of Cebuanos in developing their skills and work together for the success of the Cebu business community.

To translate the Get Inspired theme into the grand opening salvo, Ayala Center Cebu’s Marketing team conceptualized a grand production that brought together the three thrusts in an entertaining show of Cebuano artistry.

For tourism, the Cebu Chamber Singers performed the Cebuano medley, regaling the crowd with their world-class talent. In ICT, the Bidlisiw Dance Troupe of University of Southern Philippines performed modern dance moves to the beats provided by DJ Elmer Dado and Gruppo Tribale.

Representing the entrepreneurship thrust, a fashion walk showcased the creations of Cebu Fashion Accessories Manufacturers and Exporters (Cebu FAME) was modeled by Cebu modeling agency A.D. Models Homme et Femme accompanied by the Peace Philharmonic Orchestra.

By utilizing film, dance, fashion and music, Cebu’s inspiration and creativity shines through. Take inspiration from Cebu’s success stories in Tourism, ICT and Entrepreneurship during this whole month of June by participating in the various activities planned by the CCCI.
