The Carribean blues

- Rheena Marie L. Garcia -

CEBU, Philippines – When things are a bit quiet here in the city, party movers bring it to a different place for a different feel, a different vibe, creating an exciting thirst for good music and a level of an exquisite taste for more dancing and party.

And so...THE BAR (vodka drink: Always Open) brought in the “Carribean Beach Party” that happened recently at the Cebu Beach Club.

Guests started arriving at the venue at 12:00 in the afternoon, and the BBQ cookout began grilling at around that time also. I should say that you can never go hungry at that event because a strip of food stalls were there ready to serve you at a very reasonable price (2 BBQs + rice = only P60).

Welcoming each guest to the party was a very dynamic group called the “Kalum” drumbeaters who jumpstarted the feel to more dancing, making the partyphiles crave for more.

Adding up the volume were the Shades of Blue, Cattski, the Line Divides, Kwarenta, Blackwaters, Purple Helmets, Pandora’s Box, UK Lily, Powerspoonz and Centerfold, who started playing as early as 3:00 in the afternoon since the guests starting coming in as early as lunch time.

DJs Rondey, Bong Durano and Wang also played amazing house music making it impossible for the party people to stop tapping their feet and moving their bodies.

The party went on till the wee hours of the morning (6AM!!) and was capped with a fireworks display. Making the event more sizzling were the FIREDANCERS (just can’t get enough of those firedancers) who shocked the crowd with their outstanding fire exhibitions.

This event was presented by THE BAR and the Cebu Beach Club powered by Sound Balloon.

The organizers would like to thank Natures’ Spring, Mcdonald’s, Jonie’s Flavored Chicken, Dunkin’ Donuts, Marina Seafood Restaurant, Adnetwork, GGC Services, FJP Shipping Lines, Casino Rubbing Alcohol, Dragon Fireworks, Killerbee and Y101 Always First.

Special thanks to Jojo and Kathy Lupisan of Leonardos for inviting me to this event.

I would also like to greet the “Godfather” Patrick Maluya a very merry birthday.

Till next week!
