Globe-trotting at The Northwing

- Bobit S. Avila -

CEBU, Philippines – Firmly solidifying its status as a premiere lifestyle destination, The Northwing was once again abuzz with activity enhancing the senses. With the dynamic duo of Ms. Cybill Gayatin and Ms. Kaye Luym (A-List Events and Advertising Inc.), a chic sizeable audience was treated to a travelogue cum fashion show, a first of its kind.

First stop was Greece. Modern ramp goddesses in fluid and draped dresses from Mango and Karimadon with footwear by Aldo and Charles and Keith sashayed the luggage littered runway (or a walkway, as director Edwin Ao emphasized). This was immediately followed by a colorific punk posse with clothes from People Are People and Blacksheep by Maldito – a glimpse of Great Britain’s London Punk. Go down south to Morocco for an earth ensemble by Filippo with footwear by Aldo and Havaianas showcasing the best of Marrakesh Express. Hopping to Kenya showed models in dhoti pants and tribal print blouses by Terranova and Karimadon for Go Tribal looks. While in Africa, our travelogue cum fashion show went further south for a safari with clothes by Promod and Space.

The models then crossed a continent to North America and saddled up with clothes from Diego, Project and Space. A trip down south again to feel the Latin beat, mini dressed models clad in clothes by Space, Salabianca and Karimadon. A trip to the orient called for subtly printed dresses vis-à-vis with harajuku inspired looks by Filippo, Space, Karimadon and People Are People, respectively. The traipsing around the globe called for a trip home to our sunny paradise with Filipniana inspired outfits by Filippo and Salabianca.

Bravissimo!
