Goodyear's Women with Drive

CEBU, Philippines - It is a fact that there is discrimination on the road. When a vehicle is going very slow, “Ah babae na ang driver,” is the usual reaction. Because of this discrimination against women drivers, women drivers like me, find the road very intimidating.

Good thing Goodyear is here to help us through its Women with Drive Motoring Workshop. Women with Drive is a free community service program offered at Goodyear Autocare outlets nationwide. The program was designed to provide women with the knowledge and confidence to keep their car in safe and running order, and to empower women on the road. Its main goal is to change the old stereotype about female motorists.

When Cebu Wheelmasters Autocare, the newest addition to Goodyear Philippines’ nation-strong branded retail network, opened last April 25, Goodyear gathered the some members of the Cebu media to participate in the Women with Drive workshop.

No less than Filipino race car driver Angelo Barretto was on hand to conduct the workshop! Hah! Beat that!

Angelo patiently taught us the basics of car care like checking the radiator, the oil and brake fluid, and changing tires!
