CG 21 Presents EMBALAI 2009

- Rheena Marie L. Garcia -

CEBU, Philippines – On a lonely day, across a wide empty room surrounded by the colors of blue and white, I was listening to the sound of tapping footsteps pacing around the gleaming space and the only thing that kept me awake was a memory of flickering lights, bass-pumping sound, multi-hued glasses and a man behind a big black box with dread-locked hair at a place called Maria Luisa with a portrait of a man flanked by his good ol’ friends...a man who just turned legal last week...a man by the name of Cris Go!

It’s party once again, South Side! I know I said I’ll take a breather last week but hey, how can I say no to the man of the season, the birthday celebrator Cris Go, who was behind the success of Paradiso and the man who threw one heck of a party at their place, which he called the EMBALAI.

EMBALAI (a combination of EMBASSY (of Manila) and Balai (local term for a house)) was where the birthday bash that started with a scrumptious dinner and eventually progressed to another night of music and drinks and splashes took place.

Since it was awfully humid that night, guests took a dive at the celebrator’s pool, well, some voluntarily jumped, while others...well..let’s just say they needed a little push(hehe) and unfortunately I was one of those who got pushed (am watching you Dixon..haha).

Of course, every good party should be coupled with very good harmony and who else gives Cebu a perfect harmony than DJ Marlon Orellano, who unsurprisingly got us all grooving all night.

The month of April gave me a lot of good vibes this year and for more positive vibes, I am embracing the love by sharing you some of the best photos that night!

Happy birthday, Cris Go!
