UV's Grand Lady Remembered

The 104th birth anniversary of the late lady president of the University of the Visayas was celebrated last March 13 with a Mass held at the UV gym attended by faculty members, students and personnel. Eighty first communicants also received Holy Communion officiated by Msgr. Joe Tajanlangit.

An exhibit about the life of Lady Josefina Rivera Gullas sponsored by the Elementary Department, headed by active new principal Ms. Venus Martinez Cortes, then followed. The ceremonial ribbon was cut by Dr. Jackie Gullas Weckman, Mr. Gerald Anthony Gullas and Mr. Joselito Gullas, who all come from the third generation of the Gullas family. Msgr. Joe Tajanlangit officiated the blessing rites. Highlight of the celebration was the recognition cum tribute for dedicated teachers and support personnel held at the UV HRM Lab. The presentation of service awards was done by UV president and first district Congressman Eduardo R. Gullas and Dr. Jose “Dodong” Gullas, EVP and VP Finance. Inspirational messages touched the faculty members and personnel.
