Marco Polo Plaza's new beginnings

CEBU, Philippines – As Cebu City’s only 5-star hotel, the Marco Polo Plaza takes pride in being an innovator of trendsetting ideas and memorable events that have now become annual traditions. On the 18th and 19th of April, the Marco Polo Plaza once again opens its doors for grooms and brides-to-be with the 3rd “Weddings at the Marco Polo Plaza” with its 2009 title “New Beginnings.” Couples planning their wedding will get a chance to meet the best designers, stylists, florists, and photographers, as well as makers of jewelry, giveaways and invitation cards in one place, at one time. 

For the second year in a row, the Marco Polo Plaza is partnering with the Cebu City Civil Registrar’s Office and the Cebu City Health Office to bring future brides and grooms to the bridal fair. Selected couples applying for a marriage license in March and April will have their pre-marriage seminars for family planning and other related matters hosted in the air-conditioned comfort of the Marco Polo Plaza.

Event Partners Wedding Essentials and Joyful Weddings will conduct short seminars on Wedding topics, such as etiquette, styling, make-up and planning. Joyful Weddings will also be organizing, specifically for the bridal fair, a series of speed dating games for young professionals who have yet to find their significant others. 

The two-day bridal exhibit will culminate in a fashion show with the Wedding collections by the top designers of Cebu City. Visitors will be treated to classic and contemporary wedding couture from the members of the Fashion Council of Cebu, composed of the most respected names in Cebu Fashion: Jun Escario, Albert Arriba, Arcy Gayatin, Felix Yu, Oj Hofer, Sal Malto, Philip Tampus, and Philip Rodriguez. This show will be directed by the multi-awarded Junjet Primor.
