Summerrific Hair!

- Quennie Sanchez Bronce -

CEBU, Philippines – A perfect accessory to your summer get-up is healthy, shiny hair. Since summer is a perfect time to go on trips, whether out-of-town or the beach nearest you, make sure that your crowning glory is ready for the different activities that you have lined up. Here are summerrific hair tips from Xsalon senior hairstylist Allan Mandaue.

Feed your hair. The scorching heat of the summer sun can cause damage to hair, especially for those who had their crowning glory colored, straightened, relaxed or rebonded. Before exposing your hair to the sun, make sure to nourish your hair with the right treatments. These treatments protect your hair from the damaging effects of sun exposure.

Short is in! The perfect summer hair length is short. Bobs makes one look sassy and glamorous. Short hair is also easy to manage, especially if you plan to jump from one getaway to another. However, if you have long hair and do not want to part with it, you can still make your hair length summer perfect by getting layers or by playing with colors or highlights.

Color it! Want to be a head turner during this super hot season? Then color your hair! Earth colors and colors that glow when exposed to the sun are perfect for summer. Allan said the “in” hair colors for summer are chocolate brown, red, eggplant, and for those who are more adventurous and daring, platinum, ash and salt’n pepper. Don’t forget though that colored hair is easily damaged when exposed to the sun. To prevent this, make sure to get the right hair treatments.
