Art + Music = Graphic Remix

CEBU, Philippines - On its 4th leg, Bratpack, a power brand that carries internationally-renowned lifestyle bag brands, invaded Cebu to spread the Graphic Remix lovin’. Having been around in mega Manila for its three staging, Bratpack finally made an impact in metro Cebu and embraced local talents to perform its Graphic Remix Program where local talents in graffiti and electronic music meet.

The core of the program was to allow the artists to use Bratpack bags as their alternative canvasses to serve as their billboard of expression. Bratpack had UBEC Crew as the masters of graffiti during the Cebu kick off. The group actively defined the Cebu street art (as their name suggests - Cebu spelled backwards) in the form of graffiti and sticker art. Positioned at the The Terraces was a huge canvass wall where three UBEC artists translated their freedom of expression through live street art while other members, who were in the crowd, kept their creative juices flowing by doing their thing with the Bratpack bags such as the Jansport. Electronic musician, as well as graphic artist Techisoba provided upbeat original remixes. The TGIF Ayala crew also displayed their prowess in bartending and breakdance and poppin’ dance. They were was absolutely amazing and well-rehearsed. It was overwhelming to see a huge crowd that night, being the first of its kind in The Terraces.

Graffiti bags were given away to the lucky audience.

Marketing Officer Bryan Kong stressed that although Bratpack is for imported bags, they have infused a local flavor to their imported products by asking local talents to personalize the bags to respond to the clamor for unique, innovative and individualistic picks. With this, Kong adds that there’s something for everyone in Bratpack. Ko further underscored that the brand’s communication direction is towards arts and lifestyle, hence the Graphic Remix program is in parallel with its vision. Good news is Primer Group, its mother company, already made efforts in supporting local artists by submitting a Jose Rizal graphic tee design by Team Manila Graphic Design Studio Inc. (known for its Filipino influenced designs) designs to Timbuk2 (one of its stellar brands). Talks and negotiations are ongoing. Watch out for that!

Some of Bratpack’s consigner brands are Jansport, Timbuk2, Hedgren, DC, Sanuk, Fitflop, Life is Good. They have nine stores in the country, including the concept store in Ayala Center Cebu.
