The Wonderful Zunyi Acrobatic Troupe

CEBU, Philippines - When you have the fortune of being in Las Vegas, one of the entertainment centers in America, then you can’t miss their shows. Two such highly acclaimed shows are Mystere and O. Both Las Vegas must-see attractions feature mesmerizing Chinese acrobats.

In China, parents aspire for their offspring to become a gymnast, as the child will then be a scholar of the State, pride of the country. It is a common sight for three-year-olds hard at work on the bar, honing balancing skills and strengthening every sinew.

There was great anticipation among the crowd filling the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel’s main ballroom to the rafters. The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, the China Overseas Exchange Association and the Cebu Filipino-Chinese Volunteers Fire Brigade were bringing in the world-renowned Zunyi Acrobatic Troupe to perform before the Cebuano audience for the first time. And the people’s excited expectations were not only satisfied, it was more than what they imagined.

The program flowed through: Rolling Plates, Kids Playing with Straw Hats, Suppleness Skills, Skills with Balls, Play Diabolo,Skipping Rope, Rolling Lanterns, Jumping Hoops, Balancing on Chairs, Flying in the Air, Balancing with Candelabras, and a hilarious Magic Show.
