SM Supermalls took two steps forward in addressing the environmental issues, particularly in reducing wastes. They recently launched the exclusively designed Manuel Baldemor SM Supermalls Collectible Green Bags in order to reduce the use of non-biodegradable plastic shopping bags, encouraging shoppers, tenants, suppliers and staff to value sustainable environmental management. Baldemor, a world-renowned artist, sketched four designs namely Graces from Air, Graces from Sea, Graces from the Land and Spiritual Light & Supreme Energy – all illustrating Mother Nature’s bounties.

The limited edition green bag is made from 100 percent polypropylene material which is non-toxic, non-woven, allergy-free, and recyclable. This is economical, as well, because of its two-year lifespan when used on a daily basis. When using a cloth bag, we can actually save six non-biodegradable bags a week! These bags are available at the Green Bag booth in 32 SM Supermalls nationwide and are available until October 30, 2009 only at P35, when you present a single receipt/accumulated receipts worth P500. For SM City Cebu, the booth is located at the Upper Ground Floor, fronting Island Souvenirs.
