Charity golf

For the past eight years, a group of friends have pooled their talent and resources together late in the year to play the game that binds them together and more. They also pool their resources together and that of their friends for charity.

The Friends Forever for Charity Foundation Inc. has made it a Christmas tradition to give out thousands of pesos to several charitable institutions. Late last year, the Tzu Chi Foundation, the emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF), and the Missionary Sisters of Charity were once again the top beneficiaries of the golf event.

Other major beneficiaries were the Cebu City Task Force on Street Children and The Freeman Foundation.

The tournament, which eight years ago was just a small gathering of close friends has grown into a major event as it has draw a lot of interest from other golfers, who saw the good that came out of the tournament.

Last November’s tournament at the Cebu Country Club generated over P1 million in donations despite the difficult times.

The participants are now also eager to take part in the next event later this year and give their share for the good of humanity.
