Ms. Cebu Candidates: Cebu 25 years from now

Throughout the pageant’s twenty five years of history, the Ms Cebu winners have consistently demonstrated some beautiful and admirable characteristics.

Ms Cebu is magical and enchanting. She is calm and happy. When she rises up in glory, her energy is magnetic and her sense of possibility is contagious.  She is full of integrity and joy, aware of it and proud of it.

In line with our 25th anniversary celebration, we asked the lovely candidates how they envision Cebu 25 years from now.

Let every day be a dream we can touch. Dare to dream big, meet the challenges, move beyond failures and mistakes and create the foundation for success.

 Kris Tiffany Janson

Cebu is a paradise, my paradise. Over the years, I have seen Cebu change and progress. In the next 25 years, our city will have attained a level which is far more superior to what we are currently experiencing., I envision our city to be a safer place for everyone to walk around without putting one’s self at risk,. With peace and safety tourism in Cebu will improve further. Given the fact that Cebu will be more urbanized I still expect the city to maintain its charm, the true essence of what Cebu really is.

Cebu will encounter major changes in the future but it however, it will surely be for the betterment of the community. Change is inevitable because as humans, we need to adapt to our environment for us to survive. Cebu will be more liberal opening a lot of doors for more opportunities.

I can envision Cebu reclaiming its title, “the center for trade and commerce” in the country and a “strong competitor in the world market.” Moreover, progress and sustainable developments are the things we can definitely look forward to. But inspite of these changes, the Cebuanos will still be hospitable, cheerful and religious.

Cebu will be bigger, better, more beautiful. Developments will be teeming with well-designed infrastructures that will not only be functional but aesthetically pleasing as well.  A superb public transportation system will stream through well paved roads towards looming skyscrapers and residences.

Along with this growth will come financial prosperity but the best thing is that Cebu will remain true to its heritage and cultural roots.

Cebu is blessed with marvelous gifts of nature, and a rich multifaceted culture that captivates people from different walks of life.

CEBU has built a strong monetary resources as well as its industrial facet making the island one of the leading provinces in the country. For the past decades, Cebu has surpassed local and national adversities and overcome serious economic retrogression.

The Cebuanos know the worth of maintaining peace and security that enables the community to lead a better life.

I dream of great things not only for me, but also for the ones I hold dear to my heart. One of which is Cebu, my comfort zone. It is only fitting that I wish nothing but the best for it.

I hope Cebu will move forward and carve a specific niche in the tourism industry and that we become a city much more progressive and forerunning in economic affairs.

The Cebuanos  25 years from now will have fostered and instilled in themselves a sense of identity and pride in who they are, the beacon of hope for us all.

Major industries have grown in Cebu and investors have decided to invest here because of the competitive labor force, security and stability of the city.

We are aware of the importance of our culture as a people and we find our strength in the solidarity and loyalty we possess that we are known for. Cebu will be more industrialized, more progressive, and at the same time its history and heritages will be well-preserved.

Cebu is a very progressive and resilient city. It is a paradise for its many visitors that make them want to come back for more. It offers a variety of activities for tourists and those on business trips. Cascading waterfalls, emerald mountains and mysterious caves provide challenges and opportunities for the more adventurous.

The beauty of Cebu shines everywhere and reflects the beauty of its people: warm, hospitable, friendly and industrious. Cebu will energize into a booming economy far greater than the past years

Cebu City in the coming years will become very different; one of immigration, youthful decadence and a vibrant contemporary art scene. The controversial South Road Properties of today, framed by the distant smaller islands, will be as spectacular as ever. But for the young and hip Cebuano, as well as for the visiting cosmopolites, it’s all about fun— that is, Cebuano fun.

Despite the humidity, Cebu City has an almost perfect weather It is ideal for cool-wind bathing, biking through the orderly city streets, relaxing outdoor cinemas and vibrant alfresco bar scenes.

Cebu – a city like no other. It boasts of a lot of things; beauty, culture, heritage, and of course, warm people.

The only way for Cebu to go is up and continue on progressing. I want to see Cebu on an international platform where everybody will take notice.

I want Cebu to remain as one. Cebu can never be what it is without the different municipalities and cities that make up the whole province. With that unity, gathers strength and with that strength Cebu can never cease to further improve.

Cebu is my home, my heart belongs here. I am truly proud to be a Cebuana and I firmly believe that Cebu will keep getting better and will capture the hearts of many as it has mine..

Without a doubt, Cebu will still be as progressive as it is today. Blessed with a strategic location, the island is considered the heart of the country.  The development isn’t on a standstill; it delves deeper into new and more exciting horizons.

Aside from the growing number of business process outsourcing firms, Cebu is slowly becoming the health and wellness hub of Asia. This is nurtured by the competent medical professionals in the field, state-of-the-art equipment and the Cebuano’s sympathetic nature. As an aspiring doctor, I am both enthralled and inspired knowing Cebu’s great investment in the medical tourism industry.

Amidst Cebu’s fast-paced development, I know that it is every Cebuano’s mission to preserve not only our rich cultural heritage but the very environment we exist in. With this thinking, Cebu shall rightfully achieve the future it deserves.

In the next 25 years Cebu will be more progressive as investors will come, and economy will grow to greater heights. But despite all these, the most important thing is for Cebu to grow together. No part of society will be left behind. My dream is for all the Cebuanos to have food on their table and smiles on their faces.

What comes to mind.  Cebu 25 years from now is a community of people, who continue to be part of the solution and not the problem.. They are the Cebuanos.

The Cebuano takes pride in who he is and what he does- from the fish vendor to the CEO enjoying the fact that they add value to the city by being who they are and doing what they do best.

Small and medium enterprises will crop up and businesses will flourish providing excellent employment opportunities. I see a people that work hard and exceptionally well but never forget to spend time  with family and more importantly praise God for all that He has done.
