The Day I Find the Urge to Write
For some people, writing could be a strenuous act. Well, I believe, that the only recipe needed is deep inspiration and focus. When you write; remember that you write to express, not to impress. When you are inspired and you have the focus to write, words will flow out of your mind effortlessly.
If my heart combats every emotion that I feel, my pen and paper store up every experience that I come across.
When I was younger, various situations easily overwhelmed my emotions. I easily cried, laughed and got mad about certain things. I grumbled when something upset me and I burst out when something dismayed me greatly – immature, that is what I was. Later on, I realized that expressing much outwardly seemed to profess the weakness of a person, so then I learned to conceal my thoughts and foremost, my emotions. Alarmingly, I rebuffed every need that required me to seek explanation about what and how I felt in certain circumstances. Every feeling and emotion were all centered toward my own discernment as I refused to share and express what I felt – and that was when I sensed that I was trapped inside myself.
Expressing one’s self is just as essential as breathing. This mode enables anyone to communicate to others. Whether the feeling is expressed through body language, art work or communication, self-expression is considered as a vital way of extending thoughts and emotions that have been piled up and might even cause more failures to yourself and others, as well.
As an only child, it has always been difficult for me to express my inner thoughts others. At some point, I could strive to express something verbally and yet disappointedly would go amiss of what I really intended to get across. This was a problem that I tried to muddle through when I was growing up. Moreover, these were the instances when I found the urge to write.
Expressing thoughts and feelings through writing can be a better path to discovery, far more important than expressing emotions without restraints. Writing one’s deepest thoughts can allow one to further discover yourself. It liberally allows one to express his troubling thoughts and emotions, and eventually permits him to examine possible options to work things out. This kind of act is an excellent way to achieving self-discovery. The course of writing our heart out can help us assess your personal growth and in due course, gain discernment towards self improvement.
When I started to write about how I felt, I realized that things that bothered me before were not really that complicated; and that, they were quite tolerable if I only knew a mature way of countering them. Apparently, I became my own adversary. Every time I think about my failed undertakings, I easily felt bad; but when I started to write about them, I suddenly felt relieved. I recognized the parts that were merely sensationalized. When one learns to put his feelings into writing, he can recognize and realize how he tends to blow up a simple situation. Thus, having reality checks with regard to one’s response to every dilemma experienced.
Most of the time, we focus on things that are going wrong rather than give recognition to things that are doing fine. We tend to go through our day focusing on problems that need to be solved or on things that do not feel good nor seem right. Writing these concerns down will give us a sense of enlightenment; words will provide a lucid explanation of our concerns. That is when we start to change your perception on those things. Transforming your emotions into words will shape our unexpressed thoughts and desires. By doing that, we can have meaning to your thoughts, allowing us to see things in a lighter perspective.
Writing our emotions down will take us to a boundless world of self-expression. There, we can freely spell out our concerns, worries and secrets that we cannot confide with someone else. Writing is absolutely the best ground for us to be transparent with our thoughts, feelings and emotions, and foremost, to be honest to ourselves.
For some people, writing could be a strenuous act. Well, I believe, that the only recipe needed is deep inspiration and focus. When you write; remember that you write to express, not to impress. When you are inspired and you have the focus to write, words will flow out of your mind effortlessly.
